Henry A. Hammonds

Henry Alfred Hammonds, 60, of Gurdon died Aug. 15, 2007, at St. Josephs Mercy Health Center in Hot Springs. He was born Sept. 30, 1946, in Vaden, the son of J. D. and Mamie McClure Hammonds, was a truck driver for Antoine Hardwoods and a member of Sycamore Church. He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include: His mother, Mamie Hammonds of Gurdon; his wife, Karen Self Hammonds of Gurdon; one daughter, Cyndi Taylor of Texarkana, Texas; three sons, Butch Gray of Friendship, Jerry Hammonds of Sparkman,and Dustin Self of Farmersville, Texas; four brothers, William and Junior Hammonds of Gurdon, Lewis Hammonds of Camden and Donnie Hammonds of Harrison; and seven grandchildren.

A private burial will be at Easley Cemetery under the direction of Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Sycamore Church with Rev. James McCain officiating. No visitation will be held.
