Luther Lawson

Mr. Luther Lawson, 90, of Prescott, died Tuesday. Aug. 17, 2007, in Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

He was born on June 23, 1917, in Clarksville. He was a member and deacon of Church of God in Christ of Blevins. His light of service shined bright until his death. When death of our loved one claims, Jesus know our sorrow and He will ease our pain.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rubin and Trudy Lawson; his wife, Mary Lawson, who died in November of 2005; and one daughter, Dorothy Mae.

His survivors include, five sons, Carl Edward Lawson and Ann of Sacramento, Calif., Billy Ray Lawson and Karen of Cobb, Calif., Charles Lawson and Chargloria and Michael Lawson, all of Prescott, and James Arthur Lawson and Elizabeth of Madera, Calif.; three daughters, Crystal Faye Lawson of Prescott, Rose Dickerson of Ashdown, and Mary McKillion of Tacoma, Wash.; 27 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and relatives; and many, many friends.

The funeral services were at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 21, at Greater St. Paul Baptist Church in Emmet, with Revs. Tony Law and Henry Morgan officiating. Burial was in Snell Cemetery of Emmet. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
