Johnnie Walraven is home after having surgery at St. Micheal in Texarkana. Helen Herring is improved after heart surgery in Little Rock. Joe Carpenter had to go back to Little Rock, but is back home now. Roy Howard Bailey's wife in St. Charles, Mo., called me this morning and reported that Roy isn't doing well. He is getting more chemo treatments. They both need our prayers as well as all these other sick folks. Paul Broussard has had pneumonia and is still not feeling good. They got a call this morning that Paul's brother in Lafayette, La., is not well. Ruth Vinson and I carried lunch to Perna Mason's in Bodcaw on Wednesday and ate with her. On Thursday, Ruth Vinson treated Roscoe and me to a good meal from the school house. A.B. and Maxine Luck attended the funeral for Mr. Wise on Wednesday in Benton. Sympathy to Harold, Darla and the rest of the family. Sue Dixon and friends from Prescott spent a few days this week in Cancun and other points of interest in Mexico. They report good weather and a good time. Roscoe and I enjoyed a good supper and visit with Bill and Maxine Freeman on Wednesday night. Guests of Elsie Williams last Sunday afternoon were her niece and her husband, Janice and Bo Bount of Shreveport, La. On Saturday, Ruth Vinson, Roscoe and I traveled to Old Washington to the Jonquil Festival. This was Ruth's first trip there. We enjoyed it very much. Guests in church today were Nadine Wortman of Houston, Texas, and B.C. Dillard's great grandson of Texarkana. Bill and Pat Lusby of Camden were our guests Saturday night. We hear the fish are biting and we are trying to get ready to go. This cold weather may hinder our catch. A shower was given for Keri Gibson and fiance Allen Russo last night at Union Church by ladies there. Their wedding will be next Saturday at Union Church at 2:00 p.m. Dail and Marjorie Evans attended church at Taylor Sunday and heard son, Jerry, Preach. Granddaughter Diane is home with her parents. She is working in California now. Valeria O'Keefe got new carpet and vinyl for her house this week. We are putting some of the carpet in our Sunday school rooms. Thanks to her for the carpet.
