Opal Hopson

Mrs. Opal Langston Hopson, 93, of Emmet, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

She was born on June 23, 1914, in Texarkana, to John Milton and Virda Vann Davis. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Prescott, for 60 years and the ladies Sunday school class. She lived a life of loving joy with her family. She was committed to a daily walk with Christ and shared the kind of love He taught for all of her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Otis Langston; her husband of 17 years, Raymond Hopson; and one sister, Jewel Langston.

Her survivors include one son, John Langston and Sara of Little Rock; one daughter, Belva Smith of Emmet; one stepson, Duane Hopson of Fairbanks, Alaska; one step daughter, Donna McKelvey and Fletcher of Prescott; one nephew, Jessie Royce Langston and Nell of Emmet; three grandchildren, Hope Wright and Rusty, Vann Langston and Ammy, and John Paul Langston, all of North Little Rock; two step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 28, at First Baptist Church of Prescott, with Rev. Frank Hinson officiating.
