Bennie Green

Bennie B. Green, 89, of El Dorado, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home in El Dorado.

Bennie was born March 18, 1918, in Emmet, to the late Ben and Conella Rogers Green. He owned Greens Body Shop and was a member of Antioch West Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He served in the United States Navy as a Fireman First Class during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 67 years, May Belle Green; sons, Michael and Charlie Green; granddaughter, Sheena Green; brother, Burchie Green; sisters, Ruby Keeton and Trudie Clayborn; and daughter-in-law, Bobbie Green.

Survivors are his sons, Brady Green and wife Bernice of Bodcaw, Wesley Green and wife Hazel of Grady, Richard Green of Magnolia, Johnny Green of Magnolia, Randy Green and wife Kathy of Magnolia; daughters, Shirley Howe and husband Jewel of Smackover, Betty Eades and husband Lawrence of Dangerfield, Texas; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and daughter-in-law, Mary Green of Waldo.

Visitation was Thursday, July 26, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral service was at 2 p.m. Friday, July 27, at Lewis Chapel with Bro. Vaughn Blue officiating. Burial followed at Morris Cemetery near Cale, under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia.

Pallbearers were his grandsons, Russell Page, Dennis Green, David Green, Douglas Green, Danny Green, John Michael Green and Daniel Green.
