Sonora HaneyPublished Wednesday, July 25, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneSonora Haney, 70, of Prescott, died July 13, 2007, at her home. She was born Jan. 13, 1937. She was a homemaker and of the Church of Christ faith. Her survivors include five sons, Jerry Haney Jr. and wife Terri of Chidester, Rodney Haney and wife Sarah of Delight, B.B. Haney and wife Shelley of Stillwater, Okla., Daniel Haney and wife Tisha of Prescott, and Michael Haney and wife Sheila of Anchorage, Alaska; three daughters, Carol Newton and husband Jim and Denise Smillie and husband Steve, all of Prescott, and Ruth Ann Shilling and husband Randy of Redfield; 21 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one cousin, Jo Carter and husband Jimmy of Little Rock. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her father James G. Cushing and her mother, Ruth Nelson. The funeral service was Monday at 10 a.m. at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery by Shackelford Funeral Home. Visitation was Sunday, July 15, at the funeral home.
