Felony charges filedPublished Wednesday, July 11, 2007 in the Gurdon TimesRockine McCoy, 23, 421 S. Second St., has been charged with felony domestic battery, according to records in the Clark County Circuit Clerks office. Court documents indicate that the charges stem from an incident that occurred at a residence on Joslyn Street on June 11. At the time of the incident, the alleged victim told Gurdon Officer Chris Russell that McCoy had hit her in the face. Witnesses reportedly backed up the victims statement. The charges are felony because it is McCoys second domestic battery offense. Court records indicate that McCoy plead no contest to domestic battery charges in 2004. Domestic battery second offense is a class D felony punishable by not more than six years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections or a fine not to exceed $10,000.
