Bluff City

Looks like winter is not quite over yet. One day is warm and the next is cold. It might be a great time to try your hand at flying a kite with all these March winds.

Kay Nelson has returned home from several days in Ft. Smith, visiting her grandchildren. Being around young children makes you feel younger. Right, Kay?

I was driving by the Nelson farm last Sunday and spotted a strange creature grazing in the pasture with the calves. Turned out to be a black llama. I guest that's a first for Bluff City. That end of town has been known to produce some exotic animals. Last year, Mrs. Oleta Nelson had to contend with an emu that was roaming loose in the neighborhood.

Nell Wanda McKelvy visited her brother, Jackie, in Texas last weekend.

Since news is scarce this week. I thought you might enjoy this story that a friend shared with me. It seems that Rita Mae passed away and Bubba called 911. The dispatcher told Bubba that she would send someone out right away. "Where do you live?" she asked. Bubba replied, "At the end of Eucalyptus Drive." The dispatcher asked, "Can you spell that for me?" There was a long pause and finally Bubba said, "How 'bout if I drag her over to Oak Street and you can pick her up there?"
