Marguerite BrownPublished Wednesday, June 27, 2007 in the Gurdon TimesMarguerite Brown, 78, of Hot Springs, died Sunday, June 17, 2007 at her home, under the loving care of her family, Home Care Nursing and Arkansas Hospice. She was born March 20, 1929 at Hope, to the late Rufus Bradshaw and Lutie Williams Bradshaw. Marguerite was preceded in death three and one half months ago by her husband of 61 years, Harvey E. Brown and her three brothers, Rufus Ferron, James, and Frank Bradshaw. She is survived by two sons, John Brown and wife Ruth of Hot Springs and Phillip Brown and wife Karen of Dell; one daughter, Shirlene Patterson of Polocca , Ariz.; two brothers, Richard Bradshaw of Texarkana , TX and Bill Bradshaw of Rock Creek , TX; one sister, Lucille Scoggins of Irving, TX; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brown was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hot Springs. She loved gospel music. She worked at various jobs but her biggest love was her family especially her great grandchildren in her later years. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at Beech Street Baptist Church in Gurdon, with burial immediately following at Easley Cemetery. Visitation was Friday, June 22, from 6-8 p.m. at the Horne Funeral Home in Gurdon. Memorials may be given to the building fund at First Baptist Church, 2350 Central Ave., Hot Springs, 71901.
