L. S. BriggsPublished Wednesday, June 20, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneMr. L. S. Briggs, 74, of Prescott, died Saturday, June 16, 2007, in Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas. He was born Oct. 17, 1932, in Clark County, to Walter and Gethrie Tate Briggs. He was retired from Firestone. He was a member and deacon of Munns Chapel Baptist Church of Prescott. He was preceded in death by his parents. His survivors include his wife of 57 years, Merarion Anthony Briggs of Prescott; two brothers, William Walter Briggs and Willie Ray Briggs, both of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; four sisters, Stella Jenkins of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Clara Gilmore of Arizona, Reberta Gilliam of Texarkana and Luberta Dehorney of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 21, at Munns Chapel Baptist Church in Prescott, with the Rev. Arthur Hill Sr. officiating. Burial will be in DeAnne Cemetery in Prescott.
