Festival is a successBy Wendy LedbetterPublished Wednesday, June 6, 2007 in the Nevada County Picayune The annual Chicken and Egg Festival has been termed a success. The cooler weather was a plus, according to Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Director Mary Godwin. Godwin said a good crowd turned out for all the events and that participation in the turbo chicks race was up from last year. Godwin said that the crowd sometimes falls off during the hotter afternoon hours, but said a breeze kept the temperatures to a very comfortable level. The event kicked off Friday with an awesome line up of local talent, Godwin said. She said the variety show was likely one of the best parts of this years events.
