Shooting at park leads to arrestBy Wendy LedbetterPublished Wednesday, May 30, 2007 in the Nevada County Picayune Shauntail Haynie, 25, 6663 Highway 278, Rosston, was arrested at McRae Park May 20 after he allegedly fired shots from a handgun at another person at the park. Prescott Police Chief Brian Russell told members of the Prescott City Council that officers made an arrest within minutes of the report. Prescott Assistant Police Chief Ann Jordan said the altercation apparently started over a basketball game in progress at the park. Jordan said Haynie reportedly retrieved the handgun and began firing. She said no one was injured. In other police action this week, officers attempting to make an arrest at the intersection of East Eighth and Elm streets lost control of the suspect, who fled. Other reports on file with the Prescott Police Department include: Officers were called for a report of criminal mischief at Prescott Land and Timber at 1:30 a.m. May 20. Officers arrested Julie Anna Metcalf May 17 for domestic battery. The following reports are on file at the Nevada County Circuit Clerks Office. Glen Alan Smith, 5168 Highway 278 E., was charged with furnishing prohibited items to a correctional facility after allegedly having four rolled cigarettes in his possession at the Nevada County Jail. Rodriquez Ricardo Ingram, 44, 7491 Highway 278, was charged with theft of property after Nevada County Police reportedly encountered Ingram taking motors from oil-pumping stations. The property is valued at $3,155. Tracey Latrice Harris, 21, 700 High Meadows 41, was charged with battery for her involvement in a fight at a convenience store on Highway 67. Michael D. Evans, 37, 301 E. Sixth St., was charged with domestic battery and resisting arrest. Nevada County Deputy Robert Missey reportedly saw Evans hit a woman in the chest. Evans then locked himself in the house before officers were able to make the arrest. According to court records, Evans has a previous domestic battery conviction from 1997. The following reports are on file at the Nevada County Jail. James Ward, 49, 1959 Highway 200, Rosston, was arrested May 24 for an outstanding warrant. Jerry Hardy, 25, 5827 Highway 29, Blevins, was arrested May 18 for obstructing governmental operations. April Stout, 28, 3215 Patmos Road, Hope, was arrested May 18 for obstructing governmental operations. Paul Martin, 29, 409 E. 13th St., Hope, was arrested May 18 for fleeing on foot. Rodger Williams, 615 E. Third St., was arrested May 21 for failure to appear, failure to comply with a court order and driving without a valid license. Gerry Davis, 39, 2996 Highway 67, Emmet, was arrested May 20 for driving while intoxicated and driving without a valid license. Bobby Allen, 24, 6895 Highway 278, Rosston, was arrested May 22 on a warrant. Alex Fellows, 23, 721 Moncrief, was arrested May 22 for probation revocation. David Sims, 24, 1018 Edward, Malvern, was arrested on a warrant from Malvern. Avery Matthews, 44, 261 Pleasant Hill Road, Chidester, was arrested on court order. Brittany Leonard, 27, 326 County Road 7, Hope, was arrested May 23 for failure to pay fines. Erika Warren, 36, Hope Village Inn, Hope, was arrested May 23 for a warrant. Rachel I.
