A local store received an unwanted entry when a van crashed through the front wall just after 10:30 Sunday morning.

According to a report on file at the Gurdon Police Department, Donald L. Frisby, 68, of 16967 Highway 51 South, was pulling in at the Red-E-Mart convenience store on U.S. 67 North when the accident occurred. Frisby told police that his foot slipped off of the brake pedal as he approached the store causing his 2000 Chevy Venture minivan to go through the front windows and wall of the store.

The report indicates that three glass panels and brick from along the bottom of the wall were knocked into the store.

The van pushed several booths that are frequently used by customers into the middle of the store. Customers had reportedly been sitting in the booths as little as five minutes before the accident occurred.

Frisbys vehicle made it all the way to the first row of shelves before stopping. Skid marks could be seen on the stores floor after the accident.

The van received damage to the hood, both fenders, doors and mirrors.

No injuries were reported.
