Ida Haynie

Mrs. Ida Rae Hamilton Haynie, 74, of Little Rock, formerly of Prescott, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at her home.

She was born on Aug. 2, 1932, in Prescott, to Sammy Hamilton and Nola Brown Hamilton Graham. She graduated from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia. She taught music, was a snake assassin, restored caned chairs and furniture and gave private music lessons. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Prescott, and former member and former regent of the Benjamin Culp Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bobby Gerald Haynie.

Her survivors include one son, Robert Hamilton Haynie and Tanarah of Mayflower; one daughter, Carole McDonald and Jim of Little Rock; one grandson, Lucas Loyd McDonald of Little Rock; one brother, Jimmy Graham and Linda of Prescott; one brother-in-law, Shelby Haynie and Wanda of Prescott; one sister, Gail Reddin and Ricky of Prescott; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Friday, May 18, at First United Methodist Church in Prescott, with the Revs. Jerry G. Westmoreland and David Kassos officiating. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery, Redland Community, in Prescott. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

The family received friends Thursday, May 17, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
