The city of Gurdon will pickup household junk at the curbside September 20-25. This includes appliances, furniture, old building materials and household junkno garbage. No calls after 1:00 p.m. Saturday. Call 353-2514 for more information.


Oak Grove Community Church is having a community singing this Saturday, September 25, at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to take your instruments, a song and enjoy a good time singing. Refreshments will be served afterwards.


The board of directors of the Central Arkansas Development Council will meet Monday September 27, at 7:00 p.m. at the Western Sizzlin, 621 Highway 270 North in Malvern. Interested persons are invited to attend.


Twin Rivers Health and Rehab in Arkadelphia will host the AHCA District 7 nursing home queen pageant Sept. 22 at 2:00 p.m. Thelma Pat' Jackson will represent Twin Rivers. Refreshments will be served. The winner will represent District 7 in the state pageant.


Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will be in Gurdon September 30 at the Gurdon Municipal Building from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. New applicants are welcome. Call 353-2514 for an appointment or for more information.


Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend.


Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
