Six arrested for drugs

Officers from several area law enforcement agencies arrested six people accused of illegal drug activity and confiscated more than $1,500 in cash.

According to information from the Prescott Police Department, the arrests were the result of efforts by the PPD, Arkansas State Police and South Central Arkansas Drug Task Force.

Those arrested were Andrew Willingham, 24, 806 Moncrief St.; Charmaine Barzar, 31, 431 W. Elm St.; Anthony Warren, 21, 200 Jones St. Demarione Muldrew, 33, 507 E. Fifth St., Emmet; Jackie Dansby, 34, no address available; and Terry Woodly, 25, 365 W. Elm St.

According to PPD Chief Brian Russell, officers served three rounds of search warrants resulting in the arrests.

Russell issued a statement that indicated that a search warrant was served at Willinghams Moncreif Street residence on May 9.

During the search, a large quantity of a substance believed to be marijuana was found, along with firearms and a large amount of money, Russell stated in a prepared press release.

Willingham was initially charged with possession of a controlled substance but Russell indicated that additional charges could be forthcoming.

The PPD made some additional arrests in what Russell termed a warrant round up.

Barzar, Warren and Muldrew were all arrested and charged with possession of cocaine during that operation, according to Russell.

On May 10, officers made two additional arrests based on warrants. Dansby and Woodley were arrested and charged with delivery of a controlled substance - cocaine.

The details of how those arrests and warrants came about were not available, pending completion of the investigation and formal filing of charges.

Russell issued a statement calling for the patience of Prescotts citizens as officers are doing everything we can to expel the drug problem in our beautiful city.
