Mrs. Melissa Ann DeVenney Smith, 42, of Hope, died Sunday, May 6, 2007, in Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born on Nov. 8, 1964, in Hope, to George and Emily McBay DeVenney. She was a registered nurse and a Baptist.

Her survivors include her parents, George and Emily McBay DeVenney; four brothers, Jeff, Tim, Ben and Frank DeVenney, all of Hope; two sisters, Elaine Arnold of Camden and Pat Beavers of Hope; a special friend, Tim Hawthorne of Hope; six nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope, with the Rev. Albert Brown officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope. Arrangements are by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.

Family received friends, Tuesday, May 8, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope.
