PPD to ticket noise violations; patrol park

Prescott Police Chief Brian Russell said officers will now be writing tickets for those who violate the noise ordinance in the city.

Weve been giving warnings but some of them havent heeded those warnings, Russell said. Now well start writing tickets.

Russell said complaints over the past few months have escalated and that city officers are going to enforce the law.

Russell said officers will also be increasing patrol in an effort to catch speeders. He said the office is also receiving many complaints about traffic that is going too fast for conditions.

The following reports are on file at the Prescott Police Department.

Robert Andrews, 30, 85 Brice Horton, Delight, was arrested May 1 for drinking on the highway.

Michael Sorrells, 30, 380 W. Elm St., was arrested at Elm and Third streets for domestic battery.

The following reports are on file with the Nevada County Sheriffs Office.

Officers took a missing persons report on May 3.

Officers investigated a case of theft from a residence on Nevada 422 on April 30.

Officers responded to Emmet Elementary School April 28 for a report of a break-in.

Officers were called to a vehicle fire on Nevada 7 in Buckner on April 24.

The following arrests are on file at the Nevada County Jail.

Jones Sherwood, 36, was arrested May 3 for failure to appear and violation of the Arkansas hot check law.

Glen Burdon, 44, 304 W. Bryant St., was arrested May 3 for parole violation.

Tracy Stafford, 29, 438 E. Greenlawn, was arrested May 1 for probation revocation.

Alex Wilson, 23, 721 Moncrief, was arrested for three counts of delivery of a controlled substance on April 1.

Mark Cottingham, 46, 1556 W. Nevada 23, was arrested for contempt of court on April 29.

Searcy Clanahan, 49, 215 W. Pine, was arrested April 29 for failure to comply with a court order.

James Langston, 709 W. 19th St., Hope, was arrested April 27 for failure to appear.

Stacy Harris, 19, 41 Highmeadow, was arrested April 27 for battery.

Demaine Jermain Williams, Southview Apartments, Hope, was arrested April 27 for a warrant.

The following reports are on file with the Nevada County Circuit Clerks office.

Marcus Muldrew, 1103 E. High, Hope, was charged April 11 with failure to appear. Bond was set at $2,500.

James Threadgill, 29, 594 Nevada 27, was charged April 20 with battery and fleeing on foot.
