Published Wednesday, March 10, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayunePOCAHONTAS 50 The Wolverettes almost didn't make it past the opening round of the state tourney as they came close to dropping their first game as Pocahontas was ready and gave Prescott a 54-50 scare. Prescott never really got into its game though the Wolverettes led 17-10 at the end of one and were up by 12, 28-16, at the half. The Lady Redskins got back into the game in the third quarter, which saw the score cut to 38-32. Stockton was the game's leading scorer with 24 points, while Cossey tossed in 17, including three treys. Busby led the Lady 'Skins with 15, while Kazzee had 13.
