Kenneth BellPublished Wednesday, May 2, 2007 in the Gurdon TimesKenneth Kenny R. Bell, 75, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2007. Kenny was born on March 23, 1932 in Gurdon, AR, the son of George and Alice (Thomas) Bell. He attended Gurdon Public Schools and later served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant in Field Artillery. He was stationed at Fort Rucker, AL and Austria. He married Fannie Sue Shankles on July 17, 1953 in Gurdon and later moved to Topeka in 1956. Kenny retired after 35 years of service as a Journeyman from Local #10 Iron Workers. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. Kenny enjoyed fishing and drag racing. Survivors include his wife, Sue; sons, Bradley, Gregory, and Christopher; granddaughter, Amanda; sister, Anita May; and brothers, Travis and George. Funeral services for Mr. Bell will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens, Topeka.
