Five arrested in meat theft from local storeBy Jeremy LangleyPublished Wednesday, May 2, 2007 in the Gurdon Times Three adults and two juveniles have been arrested for shoplifting after a local grocery store reported its hamburger meat had been going missing. Gurdon police officers Jay Smithpeters and Chris Russell were called to Rehkops on E. Main Street in Gurdon on Saturday, April 21, and were told that hamburger meat had been disappearing from the meat counter without being paid for. Store managers believed the meat was being sneaked out of a side door. While at the store, the officers noticed packages of meat still cold sitting outside a side door, so they decided to hide and see who picked it up. After a brief wait, they got their answer. A silver vehicle was seen picking up the meat. Officers located the vehicle and arrested its four occupants: Jasmine Ware, 18, of 602 E. Pine; Jalissa Young, 18, of 205 Tate; and two juveniles, both age 17, were charged with shoplifting. Bradley Bonds, 18, of 7157 Hwy 67 S., is accused of setting the meat outside to be picked up by the girls. He was an employee of the store, according to Smithpeters. All five suspects will have to appear before a judge on the charges. Other reports on file at the Gurdon Police Department include: Jay Martin, 20, of 308 South Street was arrested on April 26 for violation of a protection order, public intoxication and fleeing. His arrest followed a complaint that he was knocking on the window of a female who had an order of protection against him. The report indicates that Gurdon police caught him in the act. He was taken to the Clark County Jail. April 25 A resident of Eighth Street reported harassing communications. April 23 A resident of Walnut Street reported someone had used her social security number to turn the electricity on at a residence without her permission. April 22 A resident of E. Cherry Street reported domestic battery. A resident of Third Street reported that his lawnmower had been stolen. A resident of Ninth Street reported being battered. April 20 A resident of S.
