Marie TyePublished Wednesday, May 2, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Opal Marie Tye, 92, of Bodcaw, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2007, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope. She was born on May 30, 1914, in Odell, Okla., to Charles Henry Carlton and Rosa Nelson Carlton Flowers. She was a homemaker and business owner in Prescott for many years. She was a long-time member of the Bodcaw # 1 Baptist Church in Bodcaw, having been the oldest member belonging for 74 years. She taught Sunday School for more than 50 years and worked with the youth. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband of 63 years, Robert Harlin Tye Sr., who died in 1997; and by one son Joe C. Tye. She is survived by two sons, Robert H. "Bob" Tye and Suella, and Donald R. Tye and Cece, all of Hope; two daughters, Janette Spencer and Bob of El Dorado and Linda Haynie and Labe of Prescott; three brothers, Harlin Carlton of Rosston, William Hugh Carlton of Houston, Texas, and Delmar Flowers, Broken Bow,Okla.; three sisters, Vernita Ho of Bodcaw, Bessie Eilene Whitehead of New Mexico and Carlene Arimborgo of Kansas City, Ks.; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, April 26, at Bodcaw # 1 Baptist Church in Bodcaw with the Rev. David Hampton and the Rev. Benji McCann officiating. Burial followed in Bodcaw # 1 Cemetery in Bodcaw. The family received friends Wednesday, April 25, from 7-9 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
