Mozelle BrownPublished Wednesday, April 25, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Mozelle Cannon Brown, 88, of Ashdown, formerly of Hope, died Sunday, April 22, 2007, at Pinecrest Retirement Center in Ashdown. She was born in Saratoga, on Feb. 9, 1919, to Manton and Eva Raley Cannon. She was a homemaker and Christian mother and grandmother. She was a member of Ashdown Church of Christ and former member of Hope Church of Christ. She was a member of Woodmen of the World. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cowan David Brown Sr., who died Sept. 20, 1997. Her survivors include one son, David Brown and Jackie of Prescott; one daughter, Sarah Cobb of Ashdown; two sisters-in-law, Nona Cannon of Chula Vista, Calif., and Chris Cannon of Wake Village, Texas; four granddaughters, Vicki McBay of Blevins, Lisa Madden and David of Prescott, Laura Tucker and John of Fordyce, and Katie Cobb of Searcy; eight great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 24, at Hope Church of Christ in Hope, with Mr. John Cannon Jr. and Mr. Tommy Mounce officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. Family received friends Monday, April 23 from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
