Laddie SmithPublished Wednesday, April 11, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneLaddie Smith, 73, of Camden, died Saturday, April 7, 2007, at his family residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Reader, on October 26, 1933, to the late Agnes Vincent Smith and Willis Smith. Mr. Smith was a retired truck driver for American Freightways and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Royce and Sid Smith. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of fifty years, Betty Lou Wicker Smith; two sons, Darren and Brian Smith, both of Camden; one daughter, Belinda Smith Milner of Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers, Vincent Smith and wife Jeanette of Redfield and Vernie Smith and wife Kathleen of Camden; three sisters, Betty Lampkin and husband Bill and Walden Beard and husband Wendell, both of Camden, and Rhea Sarrett and husband, Dale of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 10, at Proctor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Merritt officiating. Interment was in Turner Cemetery at Reader.
