Roscoe WilliamsPublished Wednesday, April 11, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneMr. Roscoe P. Williams, 84, of Rosston, died Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at John McClelland V.A. Hospital in Little Rock. He was born in Rosston on July 7, 1922, to Coy and Velma Chamberlain Williams. He was a retired plant superintendent with 42 years of service for Berry Petroleum Refinery of Waterloo. He had always loved working with refrigeration and air repair on the side but continued to do so even 12 years after his retirement. He was a member of Rosston First Baptist Church for more than 50 years and then First Baptist Church in Magnolia for the last three years. He was a member of the Faith Sunday School class, former teacher of the Mens Bible class and senior boys class, and former church treasurer. He was an Army veteran of World War II having served during the European Theater. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Venita Williams Bustin. His survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marguerite Schmitt Williams of Rosston; two sons, Dwight P. Williams and Marion and Jimmy D. Williams and Gail, all of Texarkana, Texas; one brother, Larry Don Hart and Brenda of Hope; two sisters, Patsy Lusby of Camden and Carolyn Hunter of Baton Rouge, La.; three grandchildren, Marty Williams of Texarkana, Ginger Williams of Texarkana, Texas, and Tori Rocole of Arkadelphia; six great-grandchildren, Tyler McKinnon, Kathryne and Joe Rocole, Wren, Raleigh and Logan Williams; and host of cousins and nephews. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Friday, April 6, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope, with Revs. Arlis Downs and David Watkins officiating. Burial was in Rosston Cemetery. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. Family received friends Thursday, April 5, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
