Mr. A. E. Butler, 91, of Bodcaw, died Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

He was born in Nevada County, on April 7, 1915, to Paris and Lonna Johnson Butler. He was retired from Texas Eastern and a cattle and poultry farmer. He was a deacon, member and former Sunday school teacher of Bodcaw Baptist Church in Bodcaw, and an Army veteran of World War II. His passion was Quail Hunters Unlimited.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ardis Caudle Butler; three brothers; and one sister.

His survivors include two daughters, Jan and James Bud Daniels of Seneca, S. C., and Peggy Daniels of Rosenberg, Texas; one brother, Oscar Butler of Hooks, Texas; one sister, Theo Neighbors of Bellflower, Calif.; two grandchildren, Steve Daniels of Columbia, S. C., and David Daniels of New York; several nieces and one nephew.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Friday, March 30, at Bodcaw Baptist Church with the Rev. Lynn Green and the Rev. Jerry Evans officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery in Bodcaw. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.

Family received friends Thursday, March 29, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
