James Owen

James Wendill Owen, 74, of Stephens passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007, in his home.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Andrew and Nannie Waller-Owen; an infant son, James Andrew; and three siblings, Harold Owen, Alice Goodman and Rosemary Toney.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Ollie Connie; one daughter, Connie Jean Hooks and husband Marion of Stephens; two sons, Wendill Owen and wife Denita of Saint Louis, Mo., and Jamie Owen and wife Arlie of Magnolia; two granddaughters, Misty Turner and husband Jeff of Hampton, and Dusty Owen of Waldo; one grandson, Luke Haynes and fianci Dana of North Little Rock; five great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Alaina Crawford, Darbi Owen, and Chasity and Zack Turner; one brother, Tommy Owen; one sister Melody Justice; a host of nieces and nephews, and his beloved and devoted pet Teebell.

Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 16, at the funeral home.

Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at Bailey Funeral Home in Magnolia with Cedric Walters officiating. Burial was at Wares Chapel Cemetery.
