Baseball/softball sign-up will be held March 13 at Gurdon City Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Bring registration form, child's birth certificate and registration fee ($30 each or $25 each for two or more) when signing up.

Presidential Straw Poll, including speeches by Gov. Mike Huckabee and U.S. Rep. Jay Dickey will be held Saturday, March 13, at Evans Student Center at OBU. The event is sponsored by the Clark County Republican Committee.

A reception will be at 6:00 p.m with dinner at 7:00 p.m. Free childcare is offered. Ticket prices are $20 for adults, $30 for couples and $8 for students. Call 246-7527 or 353-2602 for tickets.

The Henderson State University Alumni Club in Gurdon will host a dinner on March 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the First Methodist Church fellowship hall. Entertainment will be provided by the HSU Music Department. Proceeds from the dinner will buy a brick for the walk at the new science building.

Clark County Fair board will meet March 11 at 7:00 p.m at the fairgrounds.

Center Ridge Cemetery Assn. will meet at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at the cemetery. If you are interested in the cemetery, you need to attend.

Pastor Charlie Williams and membership of Center Point Baptist Church invite you to homecoming services Sunday, March 14. Sunday school will be held at 10:00 a.m., worship service at 11:00 a.m., potluck lunch at 12:30 p.m. and singing at 1:30 p.m.

There will be a meeting of the South Fork Cemetery Association Sunday, March 21, at 2:00 p.m. at the South Fork Church.

The city of Gurdon Animal Control Department wants to remind you that it often has unclaimed dogs that would make wonderful pets. People are encouraged to adopt these animals and give them a good home. Call City Hall at 353-2514 or one can go by to look through pictures of available dogs for adoption.

Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
