Three people were arrested in connection with the burglary of the Jr. Food Mart in Amity.

According to the Clark County Sheriff's Office, on Saturday, Feb. 27, shortly after midnight, the CCSO received a 9-1-1 call on the store being robbed.

Sheriff Troy Tucker and deputies responded and learned two people wearing masks had entered the store around midnight and demanded the clerk give them money.

One of the robbers, according to the release, was armed with a handgun.

The clerk handed over the money from the register, about $200, and the two left the store.

Investigators talked with witnesses, who saw the two get into a car and speed away from the crime scene. The vehicle reportedly spun out of control and struck a utility pole a short distance from the store, with all three occupants fleeing on foot.

They were later found at an Amity residence and taken into custody.

Those arrested were Jimmy Reynolds, 19, Theresa Reynolds, 17, and Steven Kuakahela, 16. All three were from Hot Springs.

The trio was formally charged with one count of armed robbery, a class Y felony, punishable with a prison sentence of 10 to 40 years or life.

Theresa Reynolds and Kuakahela were charged as adults in connection with this crime.
