Charlie McLellandPublished Wednesday, March 7, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneMr. Charlie McLelland, 84, of De Queen, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, in the De Queen Medical Center. He was born to Elbert Milton and Lena Malone McLelland in Prescott, on Aug. 23, 1922. He was a retired truck driver for Pilgrims Pride and HBI. He enjoyed his work, and visiting with friends, and absolutely adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, David Lewis and Bobby Wayne McLelland; an infant granddaughter; and a brother, T. A. McLelland. He is survived by his wife of more than 51 years, Geneva Fay McCorkle McLelland of De Queen; two sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Susan McLelland of Newalla, Okla. and Randy and Heather McLelland of De Queen; three daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Junior Bledsoe of Arkadelphia, Charlotte Johnson of Gurdon and Tricia (Sally) and Ricky McDOnald of Bodcaw; one brother, Johnny McLelland of Prescott; two sisters, Pauline Burnett of Hope and Mary Phillips of Texarkana; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services were at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 1, in the Redmen Cemetery with Bro. Sam Hendricks and Bro. Charles Ligon officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. The family received friends at Chandler Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 28. Online sympathy messages may be posted to chandlerfuneral.com.
