Dorothy AbelPublished Wednesday, February 21, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneDorothy L. Abel, 88, of Hope, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, at Hillcrest Care and Rehab in Prescott. She was born on March 20, 1918, in Laneburg, to Sam and Kieffer Glass Gautsche. She was a homemaker. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Abel, who died in April 2006; one brother, Sam Sautsche; and one sister, Shirley Keen. Her survivors include two sisters, Bobbie Gautsche and Sybil Sherman, both of Prescott; and several nieces and nephews. Private funeral services were at 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 19, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott, with the Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating.
