Mack AlmondPublished Wednesday, February 21, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneMr. Mack Almond, 78, of Caney Community in Prescott, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, at Dubuis Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. He was born on Sept. 11, 1928, in Cale, to Monroe and Lillie Almond. He was a retired logging contractor and timber buyer and former justice of the peace from the Georgia Township in Nevada County. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his second wife, Billie Miles Almond, who died in 2003. His survivors include two daughters, Sharon Lee of Texarkana and Jean Rutledge and Ron of Terrell, Texas; one brother, Tillman Almond of Pittsburg, Penn., three grandchildren, Brian Harris and Laura of Texarkana, Texas, Meshanna Adams and Michele Nichols and Robert, all of Forney, Texas; two great-grandsons, Trevor and Haden Adams of Forney, Texas and two great-granddaughters, Meagan Harris and Reagan England of Texarkana, Texas; the childrens mother, Margaret White of Texarkana, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 18, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott, with the Revs. Raymond Hicks and Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating. Burial was in Caney Cemetery in Caney. Family received friends Friday, Feb. 17, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
