B.C. ThompsonPublished Wednesday, February 21, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneB.C. Thompson, 84, a retired truck driver, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007, in Fort Worth. He was born Aug. 18, 1922, at home in Kingsland, to George and Ruby Thompson. George died two years later and Ruby married Olen Calhoun when B.C. was 10. B.C. served in the U.S. armed forces from 1942-1945, working in military hospitals in Germany, Ireland and England. In 1947, B.C. married Mildred Pittman of Prescott. God blessed their marriage with four sons. The couple moved to Fort Worth in 1950. They joined Valley View Baptist Church and were serving the Lord at Grace Baptist Church. B.C. taught Sunday school for more than 30 years and touched many lives. He enjoyed many good times with friends and neighbors. B.C. was preceded in death by three sons, Michael Don (an infant), Richard Ray (an infant) and Stephen Craig. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Pittman Thompson; one son, Rodney Thompson and wife, Joan, of Haltom City; grandchildren, Rodney II, Anne and Rose Thompson and Sarah Hoban; his church family; and many loving friends. Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 7, in Mount Olivet Chapel. Burial was in Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery in Colleyville.
