Velma Jarvis

Mrs. Velma J. Jarvis, 96, of Rosston, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

She was born on December 18, 1910, in Rosston, to D.W. and Clara Elizabeth Brantley Dillard. She was a retired occupational therapist from the Arkansas State Hospital in Benton with 14 years of service. She was a member of Willisville Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Jarvis; one son, David Jarvis; one daughter, Johnnie Ann Brooks; and two grandchildren, Gerry Sue and Mark Brooks.

Her survivors include two daughters, Frances Miller of Prescott and Bonnie Sue House of Rosston; six grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 3 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, at Willisville Church of Christ in Willisville, with Mr. Chris May officiating. Burial was in Rosston Cemetery in Rosston. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

Family received friends Wednesday, Feb. 14, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
