Elva Campbell

Elva Velora Campbell, 77, of Texarkana, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at the Wadley Hospital in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born Sept. 29, 1929, in Nevada County. She was retired from GTE and a member of the Spring Lake Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Nina K. Kathy Campbell of Texarkana; one brother and sister-in-law, Denton and Mary May of Texarkana; two sisters, Mildred Marlar of Mesquite, Texas, and Nadine Easterling of Texarkana; one sister-in-law, Oda May of Longview, Texas; twelve nieces, Cheryl Colbey of Madison, Ala., Denise Nicklas of Wake Village, Texas, Jennifer May of Conway, Marilyn Hughes and Sharon Stevens of Texarkana, Barbara Kuykendall and Eula Collins of Mesquite, Texas, Daisy Smith of Larue, Texas, Janet Crowell of Marshall, Texas, Alice Whitton of Shreveport, La., and Mary Jane Baker and Diane Slack of Longview, Texas; two nephews, Gordon May of Haughton, La. and Gilbert May of Texarkana; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the Texarkana Funeral Home on Loop 245 in Texarkana, with the Rev. Larry Silvey officiating. Burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Stamps.

Visitation was from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Texarkana Funeral Home.
