One airlifted after accident in Emmet

A single vehicle accident on South Main Street in Emmet resulted in one man being med-flighted to a Texarkana hospital. The accident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14. According to Nevada County Sheriffs Office Chief Deputy Wayne Kissleburg, the single vehicle was headed out of town on Main Street when it apparently lost control and crashed into a tree in the ditch. The accident occurred near the intersection of South Main and Battle Estates.

The name of the driver had not been released Wednesday pending completion of an accident report.

The driver, a white male, was taken by ambulance to the baseball field at Emmet School where he was transferred to a medical flight helicopter picked.

According to Kissleburg, a passenger in the vehicle, also unidentified at press time, was not seriously injured in the accident.
