WCG Elects New OfficersPublished Wednesday, March 17, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesWomen of the Church of God (WCG) met March 9 at the home of Velvet Gonzales. There were eight ladies in attendance. They were Doris Vance, Eulah Wilson, Shirley Smithpeters, Vivian Spruill, Janet Toland, Velvet Gonzales, Rhonda Spruill and Jeannie Burchfield. The WCG elected new officers and discussed the upcoming state WCG convention to be held April 30 through May 1 at Snow Springs Campground in Hot Springs. Velvet presented a lesson entitled, A Passion and a Purpose. The women became acquainted with the current mission statement of the WCG organization, and each lady was inspired to 'own' the mission of the WCG as a personal passion. This mission statement is divided into six main purposes:

Articles dated December 1981 through May 2001 were contributed by Ragsdale Printing Company, Inc. Articles June 2001 to ? were contributed by Better Built Group, Inc. Articles ? to October 2008 were contributed by GateHouse Media. Ownership of all Nevada County Picayune content from the beginning of the newspaper, including predecessors, until May 2001 was contributed by the John and Betty Ragsdale family to the Prescott Community Freenet Association.
