SFC John Gary BrownPublished Wednesday, February 7, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneSFC John Gary Brown went to be with his Lord Jan. 20, 2007 while serving his country in Iraq. He was born in Nashville, on Oct. 23, 1963, to James Brown and Evelena (Manning) Brwon. First and foremost, he was a man of God, and employed by Myers Tire Supply as a District Sales manager for over 8 years. He served his country for over 20 years. SFC Browns first tour of duty was in Kuwait during operation Desert Storm, and at the time of his departure he was serving in Iraq as a part of Operation Freedom. He was originally from Nashville and active on the Nashville High School track team. Gary graduated in 1982, and then he spent one year at OBU before enlisting in the Army. Gary was a member of Agape Church in Little Rock, Otter Creek Home owners Association, VFW and was active in the Agape Childrens bus ministry and mens Bible study. He is preceded in death by his parent, James and Evelena Brown; grandparents, Luther Amer Manning, Mary Frances Manning and John Clyde and Mattie Brown of Prescott. He is survived by his wife, Donna K. Hoover Brown; father-in-law, Earl Hoover and mother-in-law, Kathryn Hoover; two step daughters, Brandy Edmondson and Crystal Lunnie, both from Little Rock; twin brother, Larry Brown and wife Rhonda of Sequin, Texas; nephews, Wade, Westley and Lee; brother, Phil Brown and wife Windy, of Nashville; nieces, Brittany and Candace; and nephew Conner; sister, Wendy Wesson and husband John; niece, Whitney; and nephew, John of Springdale; sister-in-law, Carla Scott; brother-in-law, John Scott, niece Susan Tobey and husband Eric Tobey and great nephew Blake Tobey; great-niece Bailey Tobey; two grandsons, Chrsitian Edmondson and Joshua Edmondson who lived with Donna and Gary; they were the sons that Gary never had.
