GPS Students Raise $3,500 For St. JudesPublished Wednesday, March 17, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesGurdon Primary School students recently raised over $3,500 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital located in Memphis, Tenn. St. Jude Hospital specializes in developing cures and caring for children with catastrophic diseases. Students who raised at least $75 and received a St. Jude sports bag and t-shirt were Andre Anderson, Alysha Waldren, Jack Woolf, Jesi Woolf, Jared Shaver, J.L. Lockwood, Joshua Newburn, Lee Flowers, Presley Pennington, Railey Williams, Reagan Renfro, Adam Clark, Trevor Stone, Tony Adams, Sara Boyce, Blake Daniels, Josh Purifoy, Rafael Buford, Corey Daniell, Josh Lockwood and Rae'Shawn Stephens. Those raising at least $35 and receiving a St. Jude t-shirt were Ariel Russell, Maurico Williams, Hayley Cooper, Chelse Prince, Lacy Hill, Jennifer Pope, Corben Manzella, J.D. Malcolm, Emily Alexander, Brittney Dickerson, Asher Griffin, Aushja Mitchell, Jessi Prince, Nia Giles, Maria Reeves, Kelli Pennington, Blair Kuhn, Marena Smithpeters, Monica Reeves, Codie Golden, Diana Bautista, Cody McClure, Kimberly Buford, Ashley McClure, Zach Martin, Cody Caldwell, Daniel Francis, Autumn Prince, Sarah Riley, Rachell Reeves, Haley McClure, Branaie Weems and Yolanda Penny. In addition, everyone who brought in money received a certificate of appreciation and a free ticket to Six Flags. Room winners in the annual St. Jude Mathathon were Mrs. Albert's third grade class (pizza party), Mrs. Clark's second grade class (ice cream party) and Miss Gatlin's fourth grade class (candy bar party).
