Man arrested for drugs

A Gurdon man has been arrested for possession of marijuana.

According to reports on file at the Gurdon Police Department, Jerome L. Caldwell, 19, of 211 N. Third St., was arrested on Jan. 13 after marijanua was found in his pockets and vehicle during a traffic stop. The report says a juvenile was also in the vehicle, but Caldwell reportedly told police that all of the drugs belonged to him.

One bag of marijuana was reportedly found in the center console of Caldwell's vehicle, one in his pants pocket, and three more small bads were could elsewhere in the car.

Caldwell was charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving without a license.

The juvenile was taken to the Gurdon Police Department and was released to his grandmother.

Other reports on file at the Gurdon Police Department include a report of arson on Jan. 18 at 213 W. Walnut where a vehicle was reportedly burned. No arrests have been made although a suspect has been named.

Also on Jan. 18 a resident of Dikerson Street in Okolona reported being attacked in Gurdon while picking up his daughter on Front Street.
