Jessie Bever

Jessie Margaret Langley Bever, 88, of El Dorado, formerly of

Gurdon, passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007.

The daughter of Jess and Jennie Langley, she was born in Gurdon on Feb. 18,

1918. Mrs. Bever was beloved by her many friends and family. She was the

wife of a Baptist minister for more than 60 years. She directed many church

committees, served as a Sunday school teacher, WMU leader and was a true

servant of God.

She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband, Dr. Sardis Bever;

daughter, Vicki Bever; sister, Hattie Sue Martin; and brother, Robert

Langley.

Survivors include her son Ricky Bever and his wife Tina of El Dorado;

granddaughters, April Bever of El Dorado, Amber Bishop and her husband James

of El Dorado, and Angela Dugan and her husband Eric of Alexandria, La.;

nieces, Margaret Lee of Gurdon and Ruthell Smith and her husband T. J. also

of Gurdon; six great-grandchildren and several more loving nieces, nephews

and cousins. Her family was the love of her life and she enjoyed spending

time with them and her church family as well.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Young9s Chapel with the Rev. Rick

Pyron officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Junction City

under the direction of Young9s Funeral Directors.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Immanuel

Baptist Church, 701 South West Ave., El Dorado, Ark. 71730, or Beech Street

Baptist Church, 1305 E. Main St., Gurdon, Ark. 71743.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family will be at 2923 Mt. Holly Road in El Dorado.
