Dixie TinkesPublished Wednesday, January 17, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneDixie Lorene Tinkes, 56, of Gibson, La., former of Murfreesboro, died Friday, January 12, 2007. She was born January 1, 1951, at Murfreesboro, the daughter of the late Ira and Bertha Elisabeth Funderburk Cox. She was a homemaker and member of the Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Leroy; one son, Charles Edward and one sister, Linda Kay Clark. She is survived by one son, Michael Leroy Tinkes and wife Joella of Gibson, La.; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Wheat and husband, Vince of Gibson, La. and Patsy Ann Sandford of Prescott; three brothers, Lloyd Ashley of Mineral Springs, Calvin Cox of Little Rock and lClarence Cox of Little Rock; seven sisters, Rita Cason of Nashville, Laverne Green of Hearst, Texas, Dorthy Cutler, Elaine Wilson, Mildred McRoskey, LaVerne Mitchell and Fran Donaldson, all of Murfreesboro; eleven grandchildren and a number of nephews, nieces and a host of friends. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 17 at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in County Line Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
