Wally Pittman

Dan W. Wally Pittman, 59, of Cotter, formerly of Prescott, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at his home.

He was born on March 28, 1947, in Prescott to Dan and Ruth Nutt Pittman. He was a teacher having received his doctors degree and two masters degrees and lacked only a few hours completing his third masters degree. He was also a licensed funeral director and former owner/operator of Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott and Prescott Hardware in Prescott. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Prescott. He was an Eagle Scout.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

His survivors include his wife of 21 years, Mary Lou Pittman of Cotter; five daughters, JoAnn Auld Romine and Darrell of Washington, Angie Pittman Reeder and Sam of Prescott, Danna Ruth Pittman Huskey of Texarkana, Texas, Natalie Pittman of Prescott, and Judy Kay Auld of Hope; and 11 grandchildren.

Graveside services were at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 9, at DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott with the Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating. Burial followed. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

Family received friends Monday, Jan. 8, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Pittman Scholarship Fund at Ozarka College, Melbourne, Arkansas 72556.
