William Bill WrenPublished Wednesday, January 17, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneWilliam Vickers Bill Wren, 80, of Alexandria, Va., formerly of Laneburg, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, in Virginia. He was born on December 14, 1926, in Laneburg to Doss and Reva Armstrong Wren. He was a poor boy from the country who made good through a combination of hard work, smarts and determination. He was a successful businessman, investor and entrepreneur who loved to travel, educate and inspire. Bills charismatic and personable style allowed him to connect to folks both young and old. He married E. Virginia Curry of Warren, in 1948. They moved to Virginia shortly thereafter. Those who knew him will miss Bills unique personality and bright, infectious smile. May he rest in peace. His survivors include two sons, Michael F. Wren of Amissville, Va. and Marcus C. Wren of Remington, Va.; one daughter, Vicki Wren of Escalante, Utah; three sisters, Linda Lou Stockton of Prescott, Wanda Sue Kershaw of Alhambra, Calif., and Bobbie Jane Brochu of Warrenton, Va.; two granddaughters, Milica F. Wren of Alexandria, Va., and Olivia H. Wren of Amissville, Va. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, at Harmony United Methodist Church in Sutton Community, with the Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery in Sutton Community. Arrangements are by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
