Dorothy DixonPublished Wednesday, January 17, 2007 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Dorothy E. Dixon, 87, of Rosston, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, in Heather Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on Aug. 13, 1919, in Rosston, to James Robert and Frances Elnora Crank Whitehead. She was a member of Rosston Baptist Church and a pianist, having played the piano for more than 75 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Henry H. Dixon, who died Sept. 9, 1999. Her survivors include one sister, Grace Jean Luck of Magnolia; three nieces, Carolyn Ann Folks of Hurst, Texas, JoAnn Burns of Spring, Texas and Mary Russell of Rosston; three nephews, J.D. Luck of Rosston, Kenneth Luck of Wyoming, and Ronnie Whitehead of Baytown, Texas; several great-nieces and great-nephews and one great-great-niece. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 12, at Rosston Baptist Church in Rosston, with the Rev. Charles Loyed and the Rev. Bubba Wells officiating. Burial was in Rosston Cemetery. Arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott. Family received friends Thursday, Jan. 11, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
