Golden OldiesDoris VancePublished Wednesday, March 17, 1999 in the Gurdon Times There have been several activities planned at the Gurdon Senior Adult Center that we have not been able to accomplish this month. There have been so many of those who attend the center who have been sick. To name some: Junior Thrasher, Gladys Sherman and Alfred Smith are just a few. We wish them a speedy recovery. The monthly council meeting will be on Tuesday, March 9. We have been enjoying good meals that the cooks prepare. We have been playing bingo on Mondays and Martha Bearden, activity director, has been having crossword puzzles and games for the seniors. Last Friday we watched a film on diabetes. We wish to thank all the volunteers who have donated their time. They are appreciated very much. The ladies have a quilt that they are quilting. There is always something to do at the center. It is a wonderful place to go when a person wants something to do. We would love to extend an invitation to those 60 or over to come and join us. The center is a United Way Agency.
