No one was seriously injured in a two vehicle accident on Main Street on Thursday, Dec. 28.

According to a report on file at the Gurdon Police Department, Mary Glover, 69, of 3539 Kansas Road, told police that she had been parked along Main Street in front of U.S. Bank prior to the accident occurring. She left the parking space and drove north on first before attempting to make a left turn onto First Street. While attempting the turn, she was hit from behind.

The driver of the second vehicle, David Adkins, 43, of 508 Martin Street Apt. 4, Prescott, told police that he had been driving north on Main Street in the inside lane when the vehicle Glover was driving pulled across from the outside lane to make the left turn onto First Street, the report states.

Adkins told police that there was nothing he could do to prevent the accident.

The 2004 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Glover was not badly damaged in the accident, however, the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Adkins was disabled and was towed from the scene.

The accident occurred during the noon hour. Glover was taken to the hospital as a precaution by private vehicle, the report states.
