Emmett M Burns

Emmett M. Burns, 81, of Gurdon died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia.

Mr. Burns was a retired contractor and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Arkadelphia. He was a World War II veteran and a Mason. He was born in Arkadelphia to the late Willard and Pearl Burns. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martella Burns.

Survivor include three sons, Jerry Burns and Robert Burns of Gurdon, Molly Hasley and Jim Burns of Arkadelphia, and he raised one grandson, Rev. Paul E. Burns of VanBuren; one brother, Gene Burns of Arkadelphia; one sister, Mary Lynn Sarver of Arkadelphia; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services were Tuesday, March 16, at Red Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Gurdon with Bro. Garland Bracket and Bro. Paul Burns officiating. Interment was in Unity Cemetery in Arkadelphia under the direction of Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon
