Mullins honored with receptionBy Wendy LedbetterPublished Wednesday, January 3, 2007 in the Nevada County Picayune William Mullins has retired after more than three decades with the Bank of Prescott. Its kind of like a working family here, Mullins said shortly before retirement reception held on Dec. 28. I call it my second family because everybodys so good to work with. Mullins began work with the Bank of Prescott in March of 1980 as assistant head teller. For the past several years, he has been assistant vice president of the bank. In that role, he has a variety of duties that range from purchasing to oversight of grounds and maintenance of the building. Mullins was born in Bodcaw. He is married to Helen and together they have four daughters and six grandchildren. In 1961 he joined the U.S. Navy and his military career lasted until his retirement from the National Guard in 2001. Since 1978, he has also worked as a volunteer trainer with the Prescott Curley Wolves football team. They were good to let me do things like that, Mullins said of the bank. Mullins is the Nevada County Coroner and said hell also be working some for a local funeral home as well as expanding his work with the Nevada County Fire and Rescue unit. Its not going to be all work after retirement. Mullins said he and his wife plan to do some traveling. Im looking forward to it, but I know Ill miss working here, he said.
