Murder charges filed

Charges have been filed against a Gurdon man who was arrested following the stabbing death of James Bell IV in Gurdon on Saturday, Dec. 16.

Clark County Prosecuting Attorney Henry Morgan filed the second degree murder charges against L.J. Green, 35, of 606 S. 3rd St., in Clark County Circuit Court on Thursday, Dec. 18. The charge is a class B felony and is punishable by imprisonment in the Arkansas Department of Corrections for a term not less than five years but not more than 20 years or a fine not exceeding $15,000 if convicted, according to court documents on file in the Clark County Circuit Clerks office.

Circuit Court Judge John Thomas set Greens bond at $100,000.

The court documents indicate that Bell died as a result of a stab wound which cut the brachial artery in his upper left arm. The incident occurred on Saturday, Dec. 16.
